The Pinnacles

Travel a bit further north to one of Western Australia’s most popular attractions, the Pinnacles, in Nambung National Park. The Pinnacles are a collection of natural limestone structures, formed approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago after the sea receded and left deposits of sea shells. The coastal winds blew away the surrounding sand over time, leaving behind the exposed pillars. Some of the formations stand as tall as 3.5 meters high! The park is also home to an abundance of native birds and wildlife.

Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake

A pink lake? That doesn’t seem possible! Well, there are a few in Western Australia, one of them right along your journey up the Coral Coast, between Geraldton (Jambinu) and Kalbarri (Wurdimarlu). The pink lakes of Hutt Lagoon are fascinating, its vibrancy ranging from bright pink to lilac or even red, formed by the extremely high level of salinity. If you visit between July and October, you’ll also be able to enjoy the land blanketed in beautiful wildflowers.

Kalbarri National Park

This incredible place features some incredible views and breathtaking natural formations. Hike to see the amazing natural window, a rock formation framing the valleys below. Wander out onto the Kalbarri Skywalk (Kaju Yatka) jutting over the cliff for a magnificent view of the gorge cut through by the Murchison River. At the right time of year, you will be able to enjoy the exceptional wildflowers on display.
